Best Stage of Spring NYFW 2012 – Tadashi Shoji

September 19th, 2011

The New York fashion week for spring 2012 has ended, and even if we are already focused on what is happening in London I just want to dedicate a post to the designer that has captured me the most during the past week. I’ve seen the 90% of the stages but the feeling I had looking at these dresses has not occurred twice.

Maybe you have already recognized the designer from my collage entirely dedicated to his new Spring/Summer 2012 collection , if not, I just say his name Tadashi Shoji.

About the Designer:

Tadashi Shoji is the founder and chief designer of the Tadashi Shoji collection. He was born and raised in Japan. His love for design started in young age and eventually moved to Tokyo, where he studied fine art. During his apprenticeship with Japan’s leading contemporary artist, Jiro Takamatsu, he became intrigued with New York City and its role in the contemporary art scene. For this reason he moved to the United States to attend university in Los Angeles and further his artistic development. Here he discovered fashion design and awakened a life long passion.

Established in 1982 by designer, owner, and president Tadashi Shoji, the Los Angeles based fashion house Tadashi Shoji has become widely recognized for its original designs and innovative collections.

Tadashi also launched in 2006 the Tadashi Home Collection and in 2007 the Tadashi Shoji Runway collection during Fall New York Fashion Week.

His designs is loved by well dressed women worldwide, including several celebrities from Helen Mirren, Queen Latifah, Deborah Messing, Beyonce, and Blake Lively.

About the Collection:

Since the very first look, out in the runway, all you might think about are flowers, tulips.

Probably you have read this phrase many times in this days on blogs talking about the Tadashi Shoji Spring/Summer 2012 collection, but there is something more in this stage that captured my attention.

Every girl on the runway was beautiful and young. They actually were young and beautiful but also because the collection communicates us a sense of adolescence, sensuality and virginity, that makes them glow. The silk and tulle fabric make all dresses vanishing and ethereal, we were lost in a secret garden.
During all the stage, these light colors, the very fine fabrics and the white scenography brought us in a dream, one of those dreams that make you daydream for a while.

It’s time for creativity. Even if we are in the middle of the NYFW and I have a lot of material for a new collage of mine, this time I’ve created something special for you.
Here you find 4 bookmark origami templates, you can download them for free. The texture I’ve made are the ones shown in the picture above.
I really hope you will like them.
Here are the links to download two PDF files.

Both files contain 2 models that must be cut along the border (square shape).

I’ve also done a video showing how to create these origami bookmarks, but I’m a beginner in video editing so please be patients.

These templates are free for personal use, not for commercial use.
