Chocolate plumcake recipe

Today an amazing recipe, and I know I always say that the desserts are good but trust me, this will leave everyone speechless. Chocolate, almonds, soft consistency, everything will conquer you!

Oggi una ricetta strepitosa, e lo so che dico sempre che i dolci sono buoni ma fidatevi, questa lascera tutti senza parole. Cioccolato, mandorle, consistenza soffice, insomma tutto vi conquistera!

Ingredients for 8 people
  • Preparation time 20 minutes – Tempo di preparazione 20 minuti
  • Ready in 2 hour – Pronto in: 2 ore
  • Ingredients:
  • 100gr of almonds – 100gr di mandorle
  • 180gr of butter – 180gr di burro
  • 30gr of cocoa – 30gr di cioccolato in polvere
  • 150gr of flour – 150gr di farina
  • 1,5 teaspoon of yeast -1,5 cucchiaini di lievito
  • 200gr of sugar – 200gr di zucchero
  • 3 eggs – 3 uova
  • 1,2 dl of milk – 1,2 dl di latte
  • chocolate for frosting – cioccolts per ls glassa

To do this plumcake, butter a rectangular baking dish and hturn on your oven to 160 degrees. In a bowl mix the butter with the sugar until creamy. Add one egg at a time, stirring constantly. In another bowl, mix the flour with chopped almonds, baking powder and cocoa. Add it little by little to the butter and add the milk.

Per fare questo plumcake imburrate una teglia rettangolare alta e scaldate il forno a 160 gradi. In una ciotola mescolate il burro con lo zucchero fino a renderlo cremoso. Aggiungete un uovo alla volta sempre mescolando. In un’altra ciotola mescolate la farina con le mandorle tritate, il lievito ed il cacao. Aggiungetelo poco per volta al burro e aggiungete anche il latte.

When the dough will be smooth put in the oven for about 50 minutes. Once ready remove from oven and cover with melted chocolate in a bain marie and some almonds in pieces 🙂

Quando l’impasto sara liscio senza grumi mettetelo nello stampo ed in forno per circa 50 minuti. Una volta pronto toglietelo dal forno e copritelo con del cioccolato sciolto a bagno maria e delle mandorle a pezzi 🙂

Almond brittle

At the beginning I just wanted to write a post with some photos of the sweet I made last weekend adding then a link to an external recipes’ site. Searching for the recipe I found there are not actually sites with the real italian one, the one mabe by my grandma, so here it is.

Brittle recipe:

  • preparation time: 30 min
  • Ready in: 2 h
  • Ingredients: For this recipe you need the same quantity of sugar and almonds and one orange. I made my brittle with 100 g of sugar and 100 g of almonds (this quantity is for 3 people).

Take a piece of greaseproof paper and put it on a flat surface.

Put your almonds for some minutes in your oven at medium heat on a baking pan, just a couple of minutes.

While your almonds are in the oven, put the sugar in a small heavy saucepan over medium heat, where it will start dissolving. Use a spoon to stirring it until it has the color of the honey.

When the sugar is dissolved and has the right color, take your almonds and put them in the saucepan and stir for 10 seconds, they will make a funny crackle.

Almond brittle

Put this mixture onto your prepared sheet and use the orange to roll out the mixture. The orange gives to your brittle an amazing scent. Leave it rest for half an hour and then break it into pieces.
